Acornell.2629 net.news utzoo!decvax!ucbvax!ihnss!eagle!mhtsa!harpo!vax135!cornell!pavel Sat Mar 13 13:52:47 1982 Baroque (and unrepliable) addresses I attempted to reply to a news item recently for which the return address was as follows: vax135!harpo!mhtsa!ihnss!ucbvax!C70:sri-unix!KING@KESTREL I have now received my letter back from vax135!harpo!mhtsa!ihnss!ucbvax!Network:c70 telling me that there was "No such mailbox at this site" where the mailbox it was interested in was sri-unix!king at kestrel I have two gripes with this: 1) I should be able to simply reply to any address on the USENET and have it get there. 2) Addresses should be human-readable. I have been around for a while and I haven't the slightest idea where to put the parentheses in that address!!
