Alternative to arms race.
Liberation movements must be carefully thought out. Although
some academic departments teach Marxism and Communism as if they
were some kind of intellectually sound philosophical movements,
on the evidence they are a kind of intellectual con game whose
objective effect is to keep a bunch of geriatric cases, most of
whome are homicidal maniacs, in power.
	Geriatric homicidal maniacs don't give up easily.
	"Germans, rejoice; the Fuhrer has arranged to slam the
door of history so hard that the destruction will be permanent."
Goebbles, in the last days...
	One can of course hope that the officer corps will not
begin global warfare without enormous provocation; but watching
the self-Balkanization of Mother Russia, and the destruction of
the pan-slavic dream, might be a bit much even for
non-ideologized officers...
	So; while we may hope for the "liberation" of the
Soviets (and certainly the non-Great Russian populations
generally feel that liberation is in order) we should also be
wary lest we trigger some aged maniac into making a name for himself.
