I posted it - our news system was probably locked up when you submitted it.

The solution you propose is probably workable, it would require either
(1) separate "site" names for each newsgroup, or (2) some hacking on
sendanews.  I'm not sure if a site can forward news without posting it
locally, it might work or it might not.
