A "wizard" in rogue is a non-player-character who wanders
around the game, genociding bugs.  Such a one has great
powers but is unable to score.
"Something bizarre" means that something somewhere in your
version of rogue is fubar, and you are probably getting hordes
of assorted irreproducible bugs.
