PAC in Japanese
If the pac in PacMan comes from Japanese, then it probably derives from
"paku paku", which is similar to our "chomp chomp".  It's used quite often
in Japanese comics (as in a family eating "paku paku paku ....").
I guess PacMan looked better than PakMan.
