Atari
   The name "Pacman" is owned by Atari which is an American company!
The founders of Atari were avid GO players and they submitted several GO
terms to the secretary of state to choose from when they were incorporating.
The Secretary of State of California choose "Atari".  I might have the meaning
mixed up with some of the other terms but as I recall Atari is a position in
which your opponent (regardless of his next move) cannot avoid they capture of
a group of his stones.
