Scottish riddle
A friend of mine picked this riddle up in Scotland.  I'll wait a
few days for someone to come up with the right answer (or at least
a funny one) before giving the answer as he heard it:

      What is it that's better than God, but worse than the Devil;
      A dead man eats it, but if a living man eats it he dies?
