New PCM newsgroup
Announcing net.pcm, a newsgroup for the sharing of new audio releases.

Each week you will recieve approx. 360 million bytes of logarithmically
compressed PCM data (at 20khz sample rate) which will wholly reproduce
a complete LP. A wide selection of releases is intended, to appeal to
classical, country, and rock tastes.

Requests for selections should be sent to:

	ucbvax!randvax!paramountvax!usenet_releases	-or-
	ucbvax!randvax!warner_bros!vp_releases		-or-
	ucbvax!columbia!rca!red_label

Note: network connections with less than 10k baud links should probably
not subscribe. Hard copy analogue form is widely available in those cases.

Format note: Near future releases will all be in the standard SONY PCM
format, but eventually conversion will be made to CIA reference 7-298.212
when  that becomes available...
