magtape broken again
The magtape drive is very broken.  It won't do anything -- neither
reads nor writes.  Endless retries, sometimes of strange kinds (moves
a long way up the tape before giving up).  Happens on regularly-used
backup tapes and on the TESTIS test tape.  Backups cancelled until
further notice.
