If HP is going to put their two cents in trying to sell their plotters,
I should say that Tektronix makes a couple of fine plotters as well:

Tek 4663	C-size (17"x22"), nine char fonts	$10.9K
			multi-pen capable
Tek 4662	B-size (10"x15"), multi-pen capable	$4600-$5300
			(up to 8 pens)

And, I believe that Tek offers educational discounts.
