Plastic eggs
Two years ago, I bought one as a joke present for my mother for easter.  I  am
not sure who the manufacturer was, but Williams-Sonoma rings no bells.  This
gadget started out yellow and went orange (I think), green and finally black
to indicate various levels of hardness.  The problem was, if you put them in
cold water while they were still hot, they shattered.  If I had read the fine
print, I would have known to take them out of the pot before cooling eggs --
alas I did not.
