I like the U (unsubscribe) command a lot.  It would avoid the current
hassle of quitting readnews, editing the .newsrc, and restarting readnews
whenever an uninspiring group comes along.  

The S command is a nice idea, but how are you going to find out about
these new groups if you aren't subscribed to them to start with?  Did I
miss an assumption somewhere?  Seems like the easiest thing is to get
everything by default and make unsubscribing painless.
