Let's clear up about square roots of real numbers.   Square root on the reals
is a FUNCTION, and as you recall there is only one value.  The definition
of sqrt(x) is the positive value of x ** 1/2.  sqrt(1) = 1, it does NOT
equal -1 under any circumstances.
