RE: Spock to die
In an interview with Spock (Nimoy) on "Entertainment Tonight", He said that
although a few endings where shot for the new Star Trek movie, he would not
die.  In fact, he said that he was already talking about future Star Trek
movies.  Maybe they showed the ending in which he died to just drum up some
interest.
(This is not my interpertation of what he said (as far as the movie's ending
goes), he said in no uncertain terms that he would not die).
