magtape vs DZs
It looks like we may finally have shed some light on the recurring problem
of DZs hanging.  It seems to be correlated with use of the magtape.  This
fits with my current theory on the nature of the problem (lost interrupts)
because the magtape is between most of the DZs and the cpu and is at the
same interrupt priority.  For the moment, the magtape is off-limits except
for backups.  This is not a satisfactory long-term solution and I am looking
at several ways of tackling the problem.
