file system interleave parameters

A while ago someone (I think at the Air Force Data
Services Center) did some work to determine the
optimal file system interleave parameters (you know,
the m and n numbers for mkfs) for all the various disks
in use.  Does anyone have this information or know
where I could get it or how it was determined?
