backup schedule
Our normal backup schedule has been badly disrupted by the illness of
the tape drive.  Since it still is not fixed now (late Friday afternoon),
it is most unlikely that there can be a full backup this weekend.  This
is beginning to get fairly serious.  Presumably the drive will be fixed
sometime next week.  The first backup after it is fixed (probably the
evening of the day it happens) will be the 2.5-hour full backup running
from 1800 to about 2030.  Since I do not know when the drive will be
fixed, I cannot specify which day this will happen.  The resulting short
notice will probably cause some inconvenience;  sorry about that, but
this is necessary.
