VT132 (Corrected message, with ref to VT136)

I just received a VT132 and cannot get it to connect to a TIP, or even
indicate it is trying. I feel like the setup is right. Could be a
hardware problem, but before I look into that, anyone with a VT132
have any suggestions (constructive, that is)?
