ports
In recent months several people that I know of have wanted to connect
terminals to the Unix system but have been unable to do so because of
a shortage of system ports.  We now have a SMALL number of ports
available, and will have more in the not-too-distant future.  We don't
seem to have any complete list of who wants ports, however.  Please
send me mail if you want a port;  if you have been waiting a while, say so.
We almost certainly don't have enough to go around just yet;  priority
will probably be assigned by considerations like how long the user has
been waiting.  Having (now or in the past) loaned us your terminal as a
"public" terminal meanwhile is also a mark of grace.
