VAX to PDP11 cross compiler
The cross-{compiler,loader,assembler} referred to by Rick Kiessig
was brought up by Bruce Edwards <BEE@MIT-AI> and myself.

Bruce rewrote the pdp11 assembler in C.
I modified the loader to compile on either the 11 or the VAX,
and to produce either 11 or VAX output.
(The latter is no longer useful since the VAX symbol table format has
been changed.)
I also made minor changes to the Ritchie C compiler to use it as
a cross compiler.
