downtime
The downtime from the end of the airconditioning shutdown yesterday to
about 1040 today was caused by a bizarre disk-drive problem.  Head #2
was giving trouble sufficient to prevent booting.  When we finally got
the drive, the Ampex men, and the Ampex alignment pack together this
morning, head #2's alignment deviation went off-scale on Matt's tester.
When he went in to loosen the screws to realign, they were ALREADY LOOSE.
No wonder it was out of alignment...  Matt says he's never seen anything
like it.  He realigned #2 and now everything works fine.  Sheesh.
