Damage to the reaction control pod in the shuttle was termed
``insignificant'' today, and that aroused hopes that the orbiter
will not have to be removed from the pad, resulting in delays
of ``months instead of weeks.''  As of this morning, 329 tiles
were removed.  A decision on how to repair the Columbia is expected
by tomorrow.
