the sense of your submission could have been inverted:
	it is occassionally useful to have a subroutine of your choice
	called upon subroutine entry.  this can be accomplished by naming
	your routine X, using the -p option with cc.  perhaps this should
	be an option?
pardon my laziness, but what should we use for X?
