hang up the phone
If you are using Unix via a phone line, when you are finished and
say "bye", HANG UP THE PHONE!  Unix will not hang up for you, and
you will stay connected, tying up one of our precious phone lines,
until somebody here gets fed up and investigates.  This has happened
more than once this week;  if it happens many more times, we will
start charging people money for this carelessness.
