Well, about floating eyes:
	My impression was that the floating eye was a watered down
beholder.  Now, then, a beholder can do several things, one of which is
turn you to stone.  Perhaps that is what's happening?  If so, there should
be hold person spells<paralysis, sound familar>, disintegration<never saw it>,
death<never...>, anti-magic<never noticed>, and a few others.
	Ken??  Am I completely wrong?  I'm trying to defend you.
