Check out Digital Video Systems, 595 Matadero, Palo Alto, CA 94306.
They make the CAT series of framebuffers/frame grabbers. See
Siggraph '79 Proceedings, p. 238, for a good description.

Don't waste your money on MicroAngelo from Scion - though nice
on paper, it seems to be an expensive loser for anything but
monochrome work.  Too many processors...
