I don't see how they can expect students to be able to afford
to buy a personal computer.  I went through this as an EE
undergraduate when one perfessor expected students to have
a scientific calculator, which cost over $100 then.  I was a
work study student and had never owned anything that expensive
in my life.  Don't these professors have any conception of
what it's like for a student to work one's way through school?
