My lover and I have been living together for over a year, and plan to stay that way (i.e., "living in sin"). In fact, we're moving to Connecticut soon. Watch for me from ittvax!bunker. Which brings me to a few questions: Anybody know the amount of time a couple has to be living together to be considered as having a common law marriage? I've heard that it's 6 months here in Ohio. What about Connecticut? Does one have to declare anything? What about company benefits for the common law spouse? What about "divorce" from a common law marriage? With all the apparent hassles involved, one might wonder why we don't just go ahead and get married. Well, besides the fact that it's against our religion (none, and we don't feel like paying the state to formalize our union), if we ever do decide to separate, having a common law marriage might/should make it easier. Then again, maybe we're both just lazy. (not afraid to be sort of single) Bill Banze rmas70!mork-cb!willy
