Ellen's remarks about Gordon may have been a joke, or they may have been
a cry of frustration from someone who sees no other (non-violent) outlet
for her pain.

They made me stop and wonder whether I hurt my ex-wife, unwittingly
to be sure, so badly that she would have said the same about me, had
she access to this forum of invisible listners.

They should make you think about the realities of your life, and of
your responsibilities towards those who love you; Gordon's towards Ellen,
and Ellen towards Gordon.

And, rather than tell Ellen to shut up, we should be happy that she,
for whatever reason, was willing to speak of her pain.
