For those of you who haven't this film, produced by the Canadian National Film Board, is an inquiry into the effect of pornography on our consciousness. This is not a fun film, it is a serious, powerful, thoughtful exploration of this serious issue. I would recommend this film to anyone I felt was interested in combatting oppressive sex roles, or to anyone who was open to exploring ideas that aren't usually examined. Canadian readers can arrange to see NFB films through your friendly local library. Waterloo readers can see the University's print through the A.V. department. I don't know what arrangements American reader would have to make. So I have a few questions: [1] Is net.singles an appropriate forum for discussing human sexuality and related issues? [2] Who out there has seen this film, and are you interested in discussing it (via news or mail, whichever proves more appropriate.) [3] Do those of you who have seen the film consider it too shocking to discuss in net.singles, which so far has been a fairly pedestrian forum. (I am willing to digest Mail replies.) [4] A question about sex roles, how many of you fellows out there know how to cook/don't know how to cook? How do you feel about it? How many of you females out there know how to work with tools (ie drills, saws, hammers, screw-drivers, wrenches, & etc.)? How do you feel about it?
