     Did this newsgroup reach any consensus about the appropriateness
or inappropriateness of trying to meet people through the newsgroup
(i.e., perhaps in a subgroup, say, "net.singles.hi")?  I know there
was a fair amount of discussion of the question (which I'm not trying
to re-kindle) -- I'd just like to know if a consensus was reached,
and, if so, what it was.  I have a friend (female) who needs to widen
her circle of intelligent friends, and I thought this might be a
particularly fast and effective way to do it (with her permission,
naturally).  What say you, singles and pseudo-singles?
"Net.singles.hi" -- sink or swim?
