When we last left our intrepid net.singlers, they were in a quandary
over how to meet other net.singlers.  Some best singles events I've
attended have been potluck dinners.  Many singles, like myself, enjoy
cooking but have a hard time justifying (good) cooking for one.  Such a
potluck gives everyone a chance to enjoy the making (and eating!) good
food.

I realize that many people are not as skilled in the kitchen as they
are at reading netnews, but they need not be left out.  Almost anyone
can whip up a batch of chili.  If you can't handle that, bring a bottle
of wine or a bucket of chicken.

If there is sufficient interest, I'd be willing to organize such an
event in the western suburbs of Chicago.  If it works, it could be made
into a semi-regular event.  I've done this in the past and found it
nice to have some variety in my diet and conversation.

Reply to me if you'd be interested in attending something like this.
We can work out the details and I'll post an announcement when plans
are finalized.
