We have a program called 'rastermorph' which takes a raster input
in any of several forms (including vtroff output) and transforms
it for any of several output devices, including a Printronix in plot
mode and an ordinary terminal.  Clipping and truncation can
be specified.   I can mail the source and man entry to those
interested.
