We recently had a problem with our 780 Cache which required a board
swap, and for which no board was immediately available.  The DEC
service rep seemed to think we might be able to run without the
cache so he turned off some bit at the console--
but it didn't work.  Pulling out the cache board, of course,
didn't work either.  Anyone out there know anything about this?
