               Dr. W.T. Reeves of Lucasfilm Ltd. will speak on "Com-
               puting  at  Lucasfilm  Ltd.  or Darth Vader Meets the
               Computer Revolution".

               ABSTRACT

               At Lucasfilm Ltd - the company that brought you  Star
               Wars,  The  Empire  Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost
               Ark, and soon Revenge of  The  Jedi  -  the  Computer
               Research  and  Development Division is applying state
               of the art computer technology and techniques to  ap-
               plications in the film industry.  This talk will out-
               line our four major areas of research: video editing,
               digital  audio  sound processing, computer games, and
               computer graphics, and illustrate some of our initial
               results.

               Coffee and refreshments will be served at 3:00 PM.
