Similar in most ways to the existing line-printer stuff, from which they are derived. Header and trailer pages are in the 16-pitch one-pass font for speed and compactness. The device has been renamed /dev/sp and is now protected, to require all access to be done via spr and spd. The reason for this is that spd keeps accounting records. Charging rates have yet to be set, but will basically be aimed at recovering the cost of ribbons.
