The main one I know of is: Western States Fly-in Campground Directory pub. by: Fly 'N Camp Enterprises PO Box 6055 Burbank CA 91510 It covers the western US (i.e. west of (and including) Mont., WY, UT, NM). The copy I have is the 2nd edition (1978). I don't know if there is a newer edition out or if the company is even in buisiness any more. A good general book on fly-in camping which also has some camp spots listed in the back (covering all US) is: Flying -- Off The Pavement by Link Grindle Pub. by and avail from: Lasenda Publishers 32331 Coast Hwy. South Laguna CA 92677 Another referance is: "AOPA's Airports USA". While it doesn't seperately list camping areas, it does say for many of the airport entrys if camping is available on field or nearby. As an aside, on a recent flying trip to Alaska (via Alcan Hwy) I friend and I camped rather than staying in motels. We found that at every airport we stopped at we were able to pitch our tent on the airport premises, sometimes right under the wing of the airplane. One airport (Watson Lake, YT) even caters to fly-in campers with fire boxes and garbage barrels. Flying and camping is a way of life in the north country and we meet several people doing the same thing we were. -Bill Randle Tektronix, Inc. {decvax or ucbvax}!teklabs!tekcrd!billr (UUCP) billr@tektronix (CSNET) billr.tektronix@rand-relay (ARPA)
