It is the only computer here with an up-to-date version of the SIR data base manager else I would not use it. Compared to UNIX it seems very kludgy and has what I feel is a clumsy syntax requirement for system commands. What I especially dislike it the fact that passwords are required everytime you change subdirectories else work done in an editor cannot be saved. I have been caught many times after spending much time modifying a file discovering taht I could not save the work because I was not the "owner" of the file, because I had failed to give the password when getting into the subdirectory.
