recently, a canadian amateur attempting to import a linear amplifier
was told by customs officials that amateur equipment had to be doc
type approved before being admitted.  amateurs experiencing similar
problems should refer customs officials to revenue canada customs and
excise memorandum d19 4 2 dated july 1, 1982.  section 8 of this
