The "Gordon" message from Ellen seemed to be a joke. I still think it was. I fully expected to see an article to Ellen from Gordon, and so on. The turn of events since it was posted has certainly pre-empted the last hot debate over the oldest vs. youngest single on the net. Somebody (sorry, don't remember who) posted an article concerning the lack of sympathy (or perhaps *empathy*?) for Ellen. If it was a joke, I must be the only one who thought it was a refreshing change. (Or maybe I have a warped sense of humor, though I never thought so, being 30 and divorced.) Since I've been reading net.singles I had the impression that there were many sensitive-type people out there in net.land. If "Gordon" was *not* a joke, I commend the one sympathetic replier for looking past he message into the purpose behind it, or the feelings that went into it. I'm just not sure what to think anymore -- of this group, of the net in general, or ??? How about a reconciliation party? Ellen and Gordon kiss and make up, etc., etc. Or perhaps we can analyze the reasons for their divorce based on their ages and similar or dissimilar interests? (I just know I'm going to get flamed for this -- be kind, it's my first attempt at exhibitionism.) -dw-
