We certainly had much in common. Luckily, she had many other redeeming qualities to offset this. Her previous background had been in very different areas and I was able to learn many things from her. Much of the time, our different approaches complemented each other. It certainly was nice to have someone who understood much of what I was enthusiastic about and who had her own insights to offer me. It seems that she is becoming as much of a "hacker" (I use the term as a compliment), as I am. She is undoubtedly reading this because reading these newsgroups can be addictive to people like ourselves. I really would rather find someone like that again. The problem is that there are not that many women in the field, yet. Moving to NJ from WI also does not help maintain any contacts. Many of the people I have been meeting, seem rather shallow when it comes to some of the important things in life. It is frustrating to have to explain every third word and concept to them (often recursively) before they can comprehend what you do for a living. Anyway, I vote for more women in the CS field. In case anyone is still tabulating ages, I am 27. Avi E. Gross LZ 3C-314, (201) 576-3063 houxf!avi
