I think that if I was in your fiancee's position I would have been initially
upset also, but then again I would have a reason to be concerned. My point
was that there were people who had no concern in the matter who were making 
all kinds of assumptions they had no right to.

Lest you think I'm being hypocritical, I would have believed you when you said
the relationship was platonic. If I had felt I couldn't trust somebody's word,
I wouldn't end up engaged to him. As an outsider I would have wasted my time 
with assumptions. What bothered me in your story was that you seemed a bit in-
sensitive to the possible reaction of your fiancee, not that you would have 
another woman over for dinner.

The key there would be the trust in your relationship. Possibly you are like
my husband, who I would trust alone with anybody you could think of. If I was
one of your close friends and you told me the story,
