The opportunity to address several topics at once has thrust itself at my screen. Big deal, you say? Foul language used by anyone is almost always unwelcome to me. I can accept it, yes, from friends, but I don't like it. I guess I always equate it with lack of intelligence, even though I know that isn't the case. I ALWAYS insist on cooking in my own house, and elsewhere as much as possible. The reason isn't so much that I'm a good cook, but that I like to have absolute control over what I DO know, and (the main thing) I'm fussy about the manner in which food is prepared, sanitation-wise. I like food prepared by people with clean hands and folks who don't lick the spoon. Now, admittedly, I'm a big slob and almost never have all my dishes clean at the same time, but I never use anything that hasn't been washed. Oh well. net.friendly-people? I guess that lets me out... I agree with Marta... you don't have to be a theoretical physicist to talk about singularity... Back to Ellen. As soon as I read that article, before I submitted my round of insensitive remarks, I tried to find out if "Ellen Mckay" was some famous figure and that whole thing was a quote. It seemed like too much of a joke to be real. But assuming that it is (real), I have to say that it isn't insensitive to criticize that form of self-expression, which it wasn't at all. Very few things bother me more than attempts at public ridicule, or exposition of things which should be private. I'd like to express this opinion: I enjoy this form of separation. I'm not a very friendly person, I don't have a lot of reason to be. But I like personal discussions. This kind of association seems to solve that paradox. Mark Mallett
