There was a time, however, when I didn't. For eight years I worked 12 hours a day at a job where I wasn't allowed to wear a ring -- it was considered a safety hazard. A lot of men and women work at jobs like that, and quite often they just stop bothering with rings and watches -- when they're not worn they often end up lost or stolen. They're safer at home in the jewelry box. Some men do, of course, leave the ring at home for other reasons, but we can't too quick to judge. As for what I'd say if my wife were to stop wearing her ring, I don't know. It's never been an issue. I doubt, however, that I'd jump to what everyone seems to think is the obvious conclusion. If I distrusted her so much that I would immediately suspect her motives for taking her ring off, then perhaps she's justified in doing so.
