My wife and I never bought wedding rings.  After we were married and
came back east my mother gave her mother's ring to my wife.  If I had a
ring I would wear it (if it were silver).  I couldn't care less if my
wife stopped wearing hers and I know she doesn't care that I don't have
one.  Don't let wedding bands fool you, I know several single woman who
wear them.
