(I saw one article from Peter Benson on this one, after losing 1
week of news due to a dead lineprinter, so excuse me if I duplicate
someone).

My wife and I have found the system of 3 accounts (hers, mine, and
houshold) quite satisfactory for 10 years.  The absolute dollars and
contribution ratio have been quite volatile, however we have always
been satisfied by the result.  It appears to be quite
unusual and really throw people that we describe it to.  On the
other hand, it completely eliminates debates and hassles over money,
since each of us makes our own decisions on personal purchases and
investments.  I would highly recommend this to anyone as a way of
handling money in a relationship involving 2 incoming earning
people.
