Please bear, therefore, with the following lengthy discussion.... ------------- I am looking (though not in any urgent sense of the word--rather a hopeful one) for a woman between the ages of 17 and ~25, with (preferably) some sub- stantial subset of the following properties: I like a woman with brunette hair, about 5'8" or so, with dazzling green eyes, a nice complexion, pretty hands and feet, weight around 130, in shape but not skinny. Should have a marvelous sense of humor, be able to integrate with respect to rho and theta in the same breath, have a command of spelling and grammar (Latin schooling a plus), and be resourceful and open-minded enough that silly things like whether or not you can cook are easily tackled and subdued. I like general problem-solving ability, intelligence, and bounce as opposed to developed skills. Open-mindedness, the capacity to argue constructively and be wrong, independence, adventurousness, thirst for knowledge and musical skill are all important, too. Need appreciation for (or at least the ability to consider) all sorts of music, from rockabilly to Joan Baez. One should have a healthy appetite for and appreciation of sex, and be able to cope with a man who falls in love quickly, easily, and completely with a deserving woman. A love for Haagen Dazs vanilla ice cream will add frosting to the cake. I will gladly substitute blonde for brunette, phi for theta, or a Scirocco for musical skills, but some things may not be open for negotiation. The most important thing, I think, is attitude. A quote from Raphael Sabatini should give you the sense: "Born with the gift of laughter And a sense that the world is mad." In closing, you should be able to tell what I am like from my article. I will add to this that I would not formulate these criteria if I could not live up to them myself, (as well as I can) and I promise that I will at least be up front and amused and if you don't like me I won't be surprised. Happy to correspond, though not really optimistic.... Glenn Reid ..seismo!uwvax!reid reid@Uwisc 529 W. Washington St. Madison, WI 53703 (608) 255-1362
