this is one with no hard and fast rule -- like many other things you
have to work it out on a case by case basis.  This busines of 'pooling 
everything together because everything is shared' sounds wonderful....
but if it translates into a case of the wealthier enjoying his sense
of generosity while the poorer is suffering under the belief that he
is 'taking his partner to the cleaners' or remains involved in the
relationship solely out of a sense of obligation or guilt due to the other's
greater financial contributions to the relationship then I think that a less
romantic and more practical approach is reccomended.
