I can only interpret rochester!neal's note on looks as stating
that jocks tend have relationships to farrah fawcett blondes
(or whatever the craze is) and that male hunchbacks are attracteds to
female hunchbacks.

Now. seriously, while there are a few "really good looking people"
of both sexes around, I cannot rate 99% of my friends according to their
looks.
That is, I cannot say A looks better than B.

If you accept the "philosophical" position that "the eyes are the mirror
of the soul", then I could possibly attach some deeper meaning to
the "note on looks". It would roughly mean that two people in a
relationship will, at "any given time", have a similar outlook on
life **and show this - involuntarily in their looks**.
