I was captured by the ruthless enemy this afternoon and
have been tortured for the valuable military secrets
they know I possess. I didn't tell them anything, but
as I lie in my cell I realize that when they continue
beating me tomorrow I won't be have the mental strength
to refuse them the information they want. I contemplate
suicide. Should I kill myself now, or let them wrest from me
secrets which would enable them to destroy a large number of
my comrades in arms?
